Pemberton Regional Airport, , is a registered aerodrome located southeast of Pemberton, British Columbia, Canada. ==Flying Into CYPS-Pemberton== AIRPORT INFORMATION: 400 landings/yr Late Summer the Busiest time because of it being Forest Fire Season and lots of small planes traveling around Regionally and cross continent. The BC Government's Coastal Fire Protection Unit for the Pemberton Fire Zone - the regional Fire Base for Forest Fire Fighting - is adjacent to the Airport. Heli-skiing is the biggest winter time use. For the flight enthusiasts the Pemberton Valley is a Centre of Hang Gliding, Paragliding, Gliding^, Skydiving, and Heli-tours. The Valley hosted the Canadian Paragliding Nationals in 2012. Launch site is NW of Village. The Sky can get very crowded in the Summer. Unfortunately this led to a fatal tragedy this Summer, when a powered Glider and a Cessna collided over Nairn Falls Provincial Park. 4 adults and a dog died. The Airport allows both rotor craft and fixed wing aircraft: private planes, small jets and helicopters.
